Hope I am in the correct forum and not jumping into anyone else's post.
My query is directed to specifically NP435 Transmissions, I have been led to believe that Chevy/GMC only used these particular tranny's between the years of 1968-1972. Were they restricted to the inline six (what size?), or also used behind the SBC engine? I also believe they came in two different ratios for GM/Chevy.
Being over in Australia, these seem to be thin on the ground, plenty of auto's or the GM SM 420/465 available (with a bit of searching), but not too many of the NP.'s.
I was hoping to lay hold of one of the "close ratio)NP 435 (A) or even better, the NP435 (D) for a build up project. Trouble is I am not very well up on Chevy, but have always admired the C10/C20's and now that I have retired, wouldn't mind something to have a tinker with.
Hoping someone can throw a bit of light my way.
