| | | | Joined: Oct 2012 Posts: 85 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Oct 2012 Posts: 85 | my 3100, 235 engine with Rochester carb is sputtering (hesitating) when shifting from 2nd to 3rd gear. Once in 3rd gear and above 40mph she has pep and run ok. I've notice if I pull the choke out slightly (even with engine warm) it will sputter less.
I've done the timming by attaining the maximum vacuum gauge method
