It was a good day today. A bunch met for breakfast which was fun. After a bit, four of us headed out to get the prizes for tomorrow. Then we headed to the park for set up.

Different to see the park with nothing but our gang slowly coming in, you could easily see KCMongo on the golf car far off, and then Andy's BBQ rig came rolling in. Mike Taylor arrived soon with the parts to set up our station. Mongo gave us a new location closer to the check-in point at the front entrance. We have three trees again.

I was in a good moon: Brewster brought me some DARK CHOCOLATES!!!

Didn't take long to set up since we had many hands. Tiny showed up soon and we all had a good time catching up. We have a few new fellows here and I hope to get their stories and truck pictures tomorrow when I'll have more time.

When the rain came (about 3:30) and lasted longer than a shower, we all headed out. We met back at the Econolodge and folks took a little break. Then, the gang headed in different directions. From what I know, Cletis, June and Tim went into town for jazz music and Bar-B-Q. Alvin, Vikki and Brian (and maybe some others) headed off for dinner. John, Don, Vicki and Paul headed back to the park since the rain was done and the sun came out. I'm here warming up and catching up on the mail.

John said the band is real good. I hope he gets some more pictures on his camera. Hopefully, Cletis will give us a report on the jazz adventure.

We saw John and Theresa Lucas early this morning and John helped unload the '49 from the trailer. After that, folks were scattered and I didn't see them again. Stranger also was here early pulling his LCF which looked cool from afar. Gonna check that out better tomorrow when I get to borrow the golf cart. Stranger and his son are camping and fortunately, they brought warm blankets. Tonight won't be so bad but tomorrow night, it is suppose to be 51! We have a nice thick Stovebolts Rules sweatshirt that may be a big "prize desire" tomorrow afternoon.

Joe Weimer snuck into our canopy while it was raining and we looked at the "guy" for a little while and didn't realize it was him until he said, in his oh so low voice, "Hellooo Peg." Oh man! He looks good. He's lost a bunch of weight. He had a bit of a hard time getting into the Park since it's around-about way in with no real signage for the Park (mostly for the Casino ... so it is confusing).

Starting jotting down notes for next year already.

Signing off for now ...

Peg
