I hate to tell you this now but I have an alternative to your "bear claws". The latches out of a Jeep CJ hard top (still available) or I believe the Wrangler will be the same are the coolest latches for these trucks. The shape of the door where the original latch went looks like it was made for these darn things. They are a "bear claw" design and actually look very similar to the "bear claws" sold by the rod shops.
The best part is they have a locking mechanism. Unlike the "bear claws" that the rod shops sell which has none. Do you know where those "bear claws" come from? They are from motor homes, that is why they don't have a locking mechanism. They were bolted to the chrome handle on a motor home. The handle has the locking mechanism in it so the latch doesn't.
If you are using solinoids this is a moot point. But if you were to want to use stock handles, these work much better.
