I've read that you can sand, fill, repair over a coat of epoxy and then apply another coat of epoxy primer, especially if you break thru. What is the goal of putting something on epoxy primer? To smooth it? Give a better product to sand? To get adhesion? It's not to "seal". I think seal is misleading? Don't the coats of paint fill a little and smooth out, provided the epoxy is smooth? The only thing I can determine is that epoxy is a bear to sand. Gums up, etc. So the other stuff is what you are "smoothing". Don't see any other reason. Over the years I've read so many how-to's on painting that I'm over loaded. Every shop, every blogger, every company has a different approach. They stress "the prep is all important" then they all disagree on what that is. House paint (which is outside all day, all night, all year) lasts for 10-15 years. That's all I want on a Truck.
