Here what I did, bought a dial indicator, set of inside mics, set of out side mics. Checked for straight 2 inside journals within .001, miced the inside of cam bearings and outside. Everything looks good the 2nd journal is tight with only a clearance of .0005 so it should go in but it doesn't. Seems as though the cam should be pulled up just as it is about to enter the bearings but the timing gear hits the crank gear. Should I 1. pull the crankshaft out and try to install the cam then the crank? 2. Or should I pull the 2nd cam bearing and hone it so I have a little more clearance according to the manual it should have over .001? Definetly getting closer I hope.
