Those are great engines. My '54 235 was rebuilt in '86 and I've put about 65,000 miles on it since then. Don't know what the road speed OP is (my 30 lb gauge in the '46 truck it's in stays pegged), but on a hot day after a run at highway speed I'm running a solid 20 lbs at idle. Frequent oil changes and they'll last and last (don't even have an oil filter on mine).
