Hi, Dave, welcome. I'm new here too, and in Spring also, and am about three weeks into owning my '50. Other than those three weeks and all the reading I've been doing, these trucks are new to me.
If your 235 is rebuildable, I might be interested in it, as mine's still got its 216, though it seems to be running great right now.
As soon as I get the 12 volt conversion done, I'll start bringing mine out to Nifty 50ees.
