Thanks guys. Sounds like bearings to me when I was driving, but there's not much noise now its on jack stands.
I'll try the axel bearings, easy enough but looking for that "plan B". If i'm rebuilding a rearend I might as well go T-5 and an open drive line.
If I go open, I'll take you up on the photos Warner.
