Is it possible that they could vary from plant to plant / month to month / supplier to supplier?
My first '49 had very glossy inner fenders. I ended up stripping and painting with gloss black Centari paint. When people would look under the hood the responses would always vary from "hey, someone got it right" to "that looks dumb - they were never that glossy" :rolleyes:
