The point about stainless bumpers is valid. Stainless isn't chrome, but you can buff out any scratches which you can't do with chrome.
The prices to me seem about right. There's a distinction between buying repopped chrome from China, and re-chroming original parts. The rechroming (i.e. triple plate) is good when done correctly.
Check references of any chrome shop and look at some work that they've done that's at least a year or two old before you invest.
There are shotty chrome shops and good ones, just like in everything else. | | |
