jr, 'stock' would have been either 15 or 16" with a width of 4 or 4.5" for the AD's, and there's no reason to not keep as close to stock as possible other than radials can be a problem on the narrower rims - but it's also the case that the 55-59 series wheels that are 5.5" wide fit the AD, and LT tires fit them fine with a much more original look - my 700R15's are a treat, as good as adding power steering

narrower tires have a number of advantages, aside from being suited to the design engineering of these trucks, including better gas mileage, less hydroplaning, better traction in snow [you may not be needing that - but I do], and they appear to be the future for efficient vehicles
