No, it's not the hood latch panel....but it does cover the back edge (including the bolt heads attaching the hood latch panel) of the hood latch panel. Maybe someone just made this cover and had it chrome plated. I would prefer a painted one...might just make my own...if so I will poat a pic. Scott
