Wow, this one's getting out of hand...Here's two cents from a fellow rookie. If you like the truck and will keep it, do what you want to do. If you're looking to sell and get your cash back, stop now and forever leave old vehilcles.
Two other notes, I found a guy in North Dakota (I think C & C Truck Parts) who is a super nice guy who will do what he can to get you good stuff to get the job done. Second, I got a GREAT deal on a compressor at Tractor Supply Store. For under $700, it's big, it's quiet, and when I grab the D/A or the sandblaster, it says "BRING IT ON!!"
