I'm about finished rebuilding the steering wheel off a '49 GMC 1/2 ton. Found out that Eastwood's has about the best price on PC7, epoxy and filled in all the chasms around the hub and spoke ends. Now I'm looking at the little splits around the rim and thinking it would be nice to just wrap them in a good quality lace-on leather cover. Trouble is I can't find one big enough for the 18-inch diam. tiller on the old machine. Max is 16.5". Even tried a local trucking equipment and accessory store but no luck.
Are there leather steering wheel wraps for up to 18 inches? If not, I'll have to do the right thing (which will please some people and astonish the rest) and fix the whole wheel.
