im inclined to up-grade brakes on my 52 1 ton/3800. ive been on free rides to many times(run out of brakes before ya run out of hill).70 torino:turned turtle.international 1 1/2 ton:ride that made me feel old,after i shoock like a leaf for a bit.had 450 case on the back, backward down a hill and around a corner.i already have compleat 14 bolt rear.ive found master cylunders for 47-54 gm trucks that mount under cab,some with vacuume booster(dual diaphram),and bracket for under $200.one with adjustable goodie to work so brakes are better empty and loaded,all for under $200.best of luck to you all. and good luck on your projects
