Russ: Good for you to paint the bedboards which is how they came from the factory to begin with. I used black rustoleum on mine and they are holding up great. The best part about painted bed boards is that you can easily touch them up any time if you happen to gouge them hauling a load of blocks or something scratchy. The grain and uneven finish make brush marks part of the deal.
