I've cut off the bottom of the door and am installing a new inner door bottom and lower outer skin. I've gutted the door and will be repairing odd assorted holes and damage. Inside the door there is a heavy formed metal support which the door hinges bolt through. At the top of this support there are 3 large screws that look like they hold the outer skin in place just below the window opening. The screw heads have been bondo'd over and I'm not sure what to make of this. Would this be some kind of factory mirror attachment that a PO has covered up or is this something the factory did? It looks like the outer skin needs this support but I can't see GM running 3 big screws through a door skin and then covering them with bondo. Plans for the truck are for a non-factory mirror so I don't need these screws but I'm not sure what to do with them. Any ideas?
