Well I saved another one from the crusher....but need some clarification on ID.

Dated June 27 1955 block casting (F275)... it is a complete engine with 3 speed, xx848 head, generator, dizzy and stomp starter from a pickup being hot rodded.

My question....
serial # is 0677545 F55Y What does the "Y" stand for..??

The other oddity is the valve cover.... a typical 235 4 screw model has four slots cut out of the top section near the front and rear similar to a 216.... and of course no other breader cap just a plain flat cap. When did they stop using these breathing slots....?

Now that we have made a stand for it we are planning to get it started just out of curiousity.

Thanks

Bob C.
