Not in central Texas, but Tinker's in Dallas does good work. The fellow is well-experienced, honest and his prices are fair. He called me on the last head I had him do to tell me the exhaust seats had already been replaced and there was no need to do that again. I've dealt with people in the past who I suspect would leave those seats in and charge me for replacing them. Most of what I've seen in there are small blocks and sixes with an occasional Chrysler or Ford block and he often has an antique motorbike (not large--things like Whizzers, Barettas or similar) of some sort in there. His shop stays busy, so you need to factor that in to your expectations. As you probably already know it is getting hard to find good machine shops anymore.
