are you using the contact cement properly? spread on both surfaces, not too thin, let it get tacky before mating,, apply pressure everywhere with a roller - and you might need to use a cleaner on the paint, especially the 2nd/3rd time .... I've not had 3M spray fail on my headliner or anything else .... and 3M weatherstrip adhesive does the door seals well, it's really a contact cement too
