On my '53 3100 truck, the door remotes are as shown in the picture below:

This causes interference when the trim panels are installed.

The factory training film clearly shows the connecting rod running through the indent in the door:

Which would seem to eliminate the interference problem.

I can't figure out how to install the controllers per the factory picture. I have tried flipping them upside down (doesn't work), and swapping left/right mechanisms (also doesn't work).

Any ideas?
