Rubber cut from the side wall of a discarded radial tire is better quality than the stuff you buy.Make sure the cab isn't set too high.You can change the cab angle slightly to help with the hood fit. The original rubber is fairly thin stuff.If you have to shim a lot use something rigid with the rubber ,not just thick rubber.The original core support bolts had stiff springs on the bottom to allow some flex.
