OK, sounds like my best bet is to stick with the original cam. I don't think I'll be unhappy with the 270, but if I feel I need it I can look into hei, better carburation, and dual exhaust. After reading stories of failed cams and expensive rebuilds I feel a lot more comfortable with the original cam.
