If it's not letting the master cylinder piston retract far enough to release the pressure in the brake lines the brakes will lock up after a few applications and stay that way for an hour or two. Sound familiar? The fix is to shorten the threaded adjustment between the pedal linkage and the master cylinder pushrod to let the piston retract past the relief port every time you take your foot off the brake pedal.
