Well, I guess I mislead you a little bit. I have a 67" rearend that I put narrower hubs on. I had a junk 63" that I pulled the hubs off of. I never did measure drum to drum.
I believe I've seen other members with the 63" rearend. Hmmm....
GM did make a few different brake setups.
You may need drums from a 3/4 ton truck and move your backing plates it. I think you can also mount your drum on the front side of the hub vs. the the rear.
On a side note, I have found that swapping to the Eaton hubs is a good alternative too. You'll have to get different bearings though. The Eaton stub shaft is .060 bigger. (I have bearing numbers if interested) Originally I thought it would make the axle around 65" wide, but it looks like it'll be somewhere in the 64-64.5 range. Just something to think about.
