Wanderer, the only reason I could think you're being told you need SS lines is because you could be at risk of galvanic corrosion (dissimilar metals). I don't think you would have any issue with steel though.
Interesting... but I am confused?
Wanderer states he is buying a "galvanized" tank, so it would be made of steel. Using stainless lines he would have ss to stl, thus a galvanic connection. Using steel lines he will have steel to steel, a non-galvanic connection.
