I think the 3M film is the best way to go, at least you can peel it off if you have to remove it for some reason.
Most bodyshop suppliers carry it, it comes in a roll.
We keep a roll of it in our shop.
A little tip when putting that on, we use a product called Right on, it comes in a spray bottle. it's used for applying decals, it works great. just spray a little on the back of the decal, place it in position and squeegee it all out. You get a nice even decal without any air bubbles.
It works great for large decals.
