Okay so now I'm frustrated.. I put the whole inside of the "new" starter into the old starter and it cranks the engine with the pedal on the floor, but it still disengages when the first explosion in one of the cylinder is made. What the...?! Is there a bendix gear on those newer starters? On the shaft inside the starter?
