A 1-wire setup draws a fraction of an amp of current pretty much continuously to keep the regulator alive. If you're going to let one sit idle for a few weeks at a time, either install a disconnect switch or remove a battery cable. A battery maintainer might be a good idea on one that doesn't get started every few days. Jerry
