This subject has been beaten to death repeatedly, and everybody has a "nose", and an opinion, and some of them are pretty smelly!
The factory original way to deal with the situation is to install a stomp start switch with a connection for a "bypass" wire on the side, then run a wire to the downstream side of the ballast resistor or the (+) side of the coil. Chances are you'll get along just fine until you try to start the engine with a slightly low battery, or under very hot or very cold conditions. Then you'll experience a "crank, no start" situation due to low voltage at the coil primary.
