The high beam indicator on my 52 3100 comes on red when the head lights our turned on, and will change to a bright light when the head lights are switched to bright, so I have a high and low beam indicator light in my dash. I think this is correct for this year and model truck.
No, that is not correct. You do not have good grounds to your headlights and are getting feedback from the low beam filament to the high beam filament through the common ground terminal.
