First, disconnect the battery.
Remove all wires. Wires are color coded and have taken a set so when you install that will not be an issue.
Remember that your temp sensor is NOT a wire but a gas filled line that attaches to the head. Remove carefully. You do not want to break it. It does NOT disconnect from the back of the gauge.
You may want to remove the seat to get under the panel.
