The 49 bed will be about 3" wider than the 46 (has a 9 board bed instead of 7 boards wide)and the tailgate will be stamped "Chevrolet" while the 46 would be plain. Took about a year to find workable rear fenders for my 46 and the price was north of $800 for the pair.
