I have a 49 3100 w/a period correct aftermarket Irvin recirc heater. It is as basic a heater as was offered. There is a cutoff
valve mounted at the water pump to allow hot coolant to flow to the
heater core in the cab.
The premium air flow type heater has a cab mounted temp control cutoff valve.
