atomarc 'Bolter A Joined: Jul 2004 Posts: 5,708 Eureka, CA	MJVAUGHANS, If it is a electric temperature gauge it works the same general way. The sending unit that is plugged into the water jacket supplies a variable ground to the gauge dependent on coolant temperature. Not ALL temp gauges are electric though. Stuart
