voltmeter is safer
ALL voltage/power leads go thru the ammeter except the starting circuit. The main electrical system is wired thru the ammeter back posts. Because of this, possibility of great harm IF those
screw posts come in contact w/ a grounded wire or wrench to gnd, is the consern safety.
cover the posts w/ some plastic caps.
