Diesel tachs only read in the 4000 rpm full scale region which ,to me, suits a 235 much better than any of the 8000 rpm gas units.
From looking at many units on ebay, it seems that diesel tachs run off some type of sensor on the alternator. I'm using a generator.....so does anybody have any experience / knowledge of diesel tach senders modified for generators ?
