In the great state of Wisco, we use to call it the Creeper Gear.
Some farm implements require you to drive very slowly yet with high engine revolutions per minute (RPM)
in order to have the power take-off (PTO) shaft spin at the proper RPM needed to drive the implements mechanism at the desired speed.
Such gears are usually not synchronized.
