For the cost of a tow (AAA will not touch antique/classic vehicles) a look at the internals is cheap insurance. If you run antique/classic insurance, you can add towing packages (I have basic towing for $9/year for 3 incidents, up to $100 per incident) but there are limitations. And $100 towing doesn't get you far.
Most charge $75 just to answer the phone.
I'd at least check compression and bearings, and look in the oil pan as a minimum before putting a 'running' motor (off CL) into a driver.
