Cool Old Truck

Ken Brown's

1935 Chevrolet 1/2-Ton

From Ken:

Well, after a few months of searching and driving all over Washington and Oregon with my buddy Dave, (and lots of good advice from the guys who frequent the Stovebolt page!) we have brought home a new member of the family -- A 1935 Chevy 1/2 ton.

This old truck was painted and cleaned up in 1960 and has been driven in a parade or two a year since then and stored in a barn the rest of the time. The barn was to be demolished and the owner had no place to store it inside and decided that it needed a new home. We happily obliged. A two hour ride on a trailer brought it from The Dalles Oregon to Yacolt Washington.

We are the third owner and will eventually bring it back to factory fresh condition. The truck is 95% original, has great wood, runs good and should be of much therapeutic value . . . some guys golf for relaxation . . . I think this is better than golfing any day! Thanks for providing such a great site for exchanging information and ideas! We will keep you posted on the progress and will be asking our fair share of questions along the way.
