Bill Jesse's1981 Chevy Malibu and 1981 Buick Regal |

From Bill:
Just browsing the Gallery section of the 'Bolt and I am amazed (and impressed) how many old trucks are still being looked after. It's nice to see the other vehicles in the Alternative Gallery as well.
Having seen them, I thought I would send along these two for you to look at.
The 1981 Chevy Malibu is not, like many people think, an Iraqi Taxi. It looks like one but the mechanicals are different. This one has a 267 inch V8 and sports very close to one half a million kilometers on it! I bought it in 1995 at a garage sale for $800 and drive it daily. I don't think I have put more than $800 into it. Except for rebuilding the carb and putting valve stem seals on it, the motor is untouched. The front seat is completely worn away and there is some rust behind the rear wheels. But it drives like a new car.
The Buick Regal is also an 1981 and runs the 267 V8. It does not have as many miles on it. Although it rides nice and looks good, I have put a bit more money into it. Namely silly things like brake booster and electric window motor. It actually belongs to my wife and is very seldom driven. She fills the gas tank about every five or six weeks. Love the steel bumpers and the heavy frames on both of these cars.
