My 8+ year old Chinese-made 4-inch grinder from Harbor Freight is still doing fine.

But I myself have had HF tools that last a while. And I have had a breaker bar that outlasted my snap on one. of course it could of been the way I used it lol | | | | Joined: Aug 2008 Posts: 403 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Aug 2008 Posts: 403 | I have really had a good laugh at some of the guys braging on the Snap On,Mac,& Matco Tools. They ought look at where some of the air tools are made! Now as far as 4.5" grinders are concerned most guys use them in place of a 7" Disc Grinder and burn them up using them on heavy welds etc. Don't let the name China, Japan, Korea fool you as they make aome quality tools but most american companies will not import them and prefer to bring juck over to sell for a big profit. My 2 cents! 62Blue Don

Moved a 250-pound refrigerator with it - THE WHEELS BENT!!! I took it back. The manager insisted I overloaded it. I saw an identical floor model and told him to stand on it while I wheeled him around the store - he weighed maybe 225#, dripping wet. Guess what - THE WHEELS BENT! I got my refund and have never been back.
That was the one and only thing I ever purchased there.

I was using them properly attached to my face, nice & snug while grinding the welds on my windshield posts.I AM THROWING THEM OUT IN THE GARBAGE. I just spent 2 hours at the ER getting metal pulled out of my eyeball. They have little holes in the sides & across the top, I assume for vent holes, and the metal grindings must have come through the vent holes and embedded into my right eye about 1 millimeter below my pupil. Next will be a better pair of goggles AND a face shield. From now on any safety item will be from a reliable source for safety. I don't think I will trust the jack stands I got there anymore either. I can see that the stuff made in China isn't, in my opinion, worth my trust. 1957 Chevrolet 1/2-ton Stepside LB in the Gallery My Photobucket shots The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself." - John Stuart Mill (1806 - 1873) | | | | Joined: Nov 2008 Posts: 98 Wrench Fetcher | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Nov 2008 Posts: 98 | i got a pressure sandblaster from HF....the price was good and what the heck, it's just a metal tank with fittings welded on it...well the ball valve was shot after 2 days,so i put a good deadman type gun on, and it works good now | | |
