I have done a previous chassis swap on a square body Chevy C10 with a 2008 Chevy 3/4 ton passenger van chassis. Am currently working on a 1941 GMC 1/2 ton chassis swap with a 2003 Chevy S10.

Exactly right. One step at a time. Fortunately the S10 is a popular truck for chassis swaps and there are kits available for that. I'll start a new post for it.
