What aftermarket stereo have fellow 60-66 owners used? Does the face plate fit? If not what did you do?

Any pics would be greatly appreciated.

There are some aftermarket deals that have all the modern geegaws(blue tooth, hook up to your phone, connect to a hidden cd player or a digital drive etc.) with them but fit in the original opening.

A car show pal of mine has a '66 Ford F100 and they used one that fits right into the original opening, looks like an older radio and all that, but hooks up to their phone, sounds just fine and they hooked it up to newer speakers that fit in the original speaker locations for their rig.

Similar options are available for our trucks.

I did see a article where a owner took an original radio and wired/soldered in a input jack for his phone, basically turned the radio into the amplifier with the volume knob as the off/on and control for it all.

Do a search for whatever year your truck is: 1964 chevrolet c10 radio

You will find some options come up.

Also, poke around the vendors sites, to see what they sell:

There are options out there, go explore.

My dash is a little boogerd from owners grandson putting something else in the dash. There was a radio in glove box but can't be the OE cause the knob holes don't line up.

I've tried two modern radios single din and they don't fit due to the dash recess for the radio.

I see advertisements for replacement dash speaker but my truck is just the grill. I see no possible way for a speaker to mount under there.

Well, the parts vendors have a metal bit for repairing the dash if you want that to look original again.

My radio slot had a 8 track in it when I bought it, so there had been some cutting involved, was not original anymore.

So, I cut it a little more to fit a single DIN radio CD player in there, fits nice.

Some threads I've started over the years trying to figure out the under dash speaker setup:

dash speaker 1964-1966 - mounting tips?

That bolt part is hard to find used, so I guess if I mess with it again I will just have to engineer something from the hardware store. Also, it seems I will have to take the wiper motor loose to have room to work.
