Anyone see where the rear running board bracket is about 1-1/2" off from the original attachment point, when front and middle line up perfect ?
I've checked 3 different running boards, and a re pop as well, and all are off on the rear brackets.

Drew - Did you by chance remove/reinstall those rear running board brackets from the frame during your build? According to the 3100 frame diagram in the 1947-54 Chevy Truck FAM (Sect 2, Page 2.00) the rear bracket should be mounted so it angles forward at the outer tip (see pic). The frame checking measurement for the distance between the center line of the center support bracket to running board holes to the center of the rear bracket inner mounting hole for the running board should be 27.436" + or - 0.062" (approximately 27-7/16" to 27-1/2').

Just went out to my truck and the rear bracket is perfectly located.

Gord your response was just as accurate (and not as wordy - lol), I just included the pic to help in seeing the info. smile

I had one that got bent severely by my ham-handed sandblasting guy. I thought that I was going to need to apply heat and use a come-along to bend it back, but all I needed was a long pipe that fit over the end of the bracket and bend it back until it lined up with the running board screw holes.
The bracket was so bent that it was buckled significantly near the frame, but bending it back with the pipe unbuckle it.
To me, its more important that the bracket lines up with the running board screw holes than adhere to any factory spec sheet.

thanks for the input the brackets were attached on the frame when I brought it home so many years ago,
Rear bracket on both sides are bolted in, middle and front are attached with original rivets.
I thought they were possibly the wrong brackets but the rears do have the large oval hole near the frame, I was thinking of moving the bracket to line up as part of the RB repair, but I think I'll go back and re measure and see if I can adjust the rear brackets

Drew - Knowing the rear brackets are mounted with bolts, a PO (Previous Owner) removed and most likely reinstalled them on the wrong sides. It's an easy un-bolt, switch and bolt back in to correct that and get your mounts in proper alignment. wink

OMG! I think Gdads51 nailed it. Hope Drew54 can simply remove and swap the two rear brackets.

Are both sides off in mirror images of each other?

both sides are off the same distance. I measured last night and found the inner bolt centered in the rear bracket is exactly 28" from the inner bolt on center bracket. I think I'll try the flip and see where that goes. Thanks again for the insight.
