I have a 1942 Suburban project in many boxes and was hoping that someone could help me figure out the rear barn door locking(closing) mechanism. I think that I have the right door figured however I cannot figure out what parts that I am missing for the left side. If someone has one that could take some pictures or explain how the left door stays closed I'll owe you one.
Rob - First off, Welcome to Stovebolt! That being said, I think your question best belongs in our Panels 'N Burbs forum so your question has been moved there for further conversation and help.

Rob - While you wait for other 1941-46 Suburban/Panel owners to see your request and reply, here are a couple of pics that might help you out to start. 1st pic is from a 1946 Suburban that sold on BaT back in 2021. The open barn doors show the hardware on both doors as seen from the inner side. The 2nd pic is a screen grab of a page from an original 1941 Chevrolet Truck dealer hand out showing the rear doors and body construction. The 3rd pic is snapped from a 1929-53 Chevy Master Parts Catalog that shows the internal door parts for both doors. This exploded diagram doesn't show the upper "gray" latch pieces on both doors in the 1st pic. When another Suburban/Panel Bolter replies, perhaps they can provide more details on those pieces? Hope this is of some help.
