I used bits from a bearing puller kit , I made a adapter up with a 5/8 unf thread one end and a 3/4 unf female thread the other end.

The bearings seem to be in good shape. The modern replacement seal appears to be a SKF 18695 .

Mike - Looks like your tool did the job! smile That is a good cross reference number for the seal. The original seal PN is GM# 592441. If your axle seal surface isn't in great shape, you can get this Speedi-Sleeve to install over the seal surface to be sure you have the best surface to work with your new seals. wink
