I am trying to get my front fenders installed on my 49 Panel and I don't know how far up the welt should go. The welt I bought is pretty long and I'm sure it needs top be cut to length but how far up does it go. If anyone has a picture of an installation I would sure appreciate it.

If you take a look at the installed product picture in Jim Carter's ad for FP124, it looks like the welting stops at the point where the fender and front of the cab cowl meet. That's what I have seen on many AD series Truck/Burbs/Panels anyhow.

I could measure my '49 Panel and give you a reasonably close approximate measurement if you'd like. but probably not right on the money unless I remove the fender.

Thanks for the response. The picture helps a lot. I see its just below the hood curve. Ill probably fit check the fender and mark the location so when its off I know how far up to go.
Thanks for the response. If you could post a picture of the end of the welt at the hood location that would be great. From Gdads51 post I think it ends right at the place where the little block off plate goes on the inside of the fender next to the firewall but not totally sure.

That's about where mine stops, at the end of the cowl, looks to be about 1/8 short but its 5 yrs old and not sure if it shrinks or not.
Please don't tell my wife how much this thing cost!
Thanks for the picture. Thanks everyone for the help. I'll install mine a tad bit long and trim to fit. It will be a while yet as I have to polish and possibly repaint the fenders but everything else is ready to go. I'm having a bit of a problem polishing the fenders as the temp in my shed is about 95 degrees every day and the polish dries before I can even get the polisher fired up. So I'm waiting on rainy season to get started here in sunny south Florida.
