Patrick Dean's1967 Chevy C-10 Custom |
04 July 2006
#1254
SOLD
From Patrick:
I sold the '67 to a guy in Texas, and the '72, my Dad sold to a guy in New York. So they are both in the hands of new owners! So, I'm currently Bolt-free and still looking for a '69 C-20 like my Dad had new, or a '55-'57 3100 short bed.
In the meantime, I'm trying to finish up my '37 Hudson for the national Hudson meet in August. So right now, my efforts are concentrated on it.
Thanks,
Patrick Dean

From Patrick:
Here's my latest addition to our little truck family. It is a '67 C-10 Custom belonging to my son James. We made a swap with Frumblin46 (Frank Anderson) out in Nebraska. We took this drivable pickup and Frank got James' first truck, a '46 3100. This is a relatively rare (in '67) big back window cab. Options include a V-8 (currently a '69 307 2-bbl), 4-speed, AM radio, heater, full gauges, rare speed buzzer, and chrome front and rear bumpers.
It has the typical rust in the rockers and lower front fenders, but surprisingly little other sheetmetal rust for a Nebraska truck. It's lived a hard life, been rode hard and put up wet, and has the battle scars to prove it. It is fairly straight and will make my son a fine truck for when he turns 16.
I've added the current wheels and tires to replace the four mismatched maypops that were on it, along with three different-sized wheels!
Plans for the '67 include lowering 4" in front and 2" in back. Wheels will be 17" Torque-Thrust-D's with the appropriate tires. The bed will be Rhino-lined and have a hard tonneau cover. New rubbers, a new windshield, and the normal resto stuff will be added, as well. Air conditioning, power steering and power brakes will be added later.
My son is an Oklahoma Sooner fan, and the truck will reflect this. The cab will be done completely in OU crimson red, with a red and white seat and white door panels. The exterior will be OU cream white with a red pinstripe running the length of the truck.
So, this is my son's second truck and he's still several months from his permit!!! I'm working on this and my other current project -- an extremely rare 1967 Dodge Custom Sport Special (CSS), which has a 318 automatic, power steering, and the CSS package, consisting of factory bucket seats, console, carpet, bright mouldings, two-color paint, hood stripes, chrome steel grille and front bumper. It is from the final year ('63-'67) of CSS production, and is one of only five '67 CSS trucks known to exist!
